What is a civil marriage?
A civil marriage is performed, recorded, and recognized by a goverment official.
In Italy, civil weddings are usually held within city halls, in specially designated historical rooms inside city hallS, or in external locations (villas, castles, farms, etc).
Weddings to be held in special locations require specific permits. Luckily, some italian municipalities have succeded in obtaining them.
The chance to celebrate a civil wedding in a chosen location rather than inside a city hall is often appetizing to those couples who wish to hold both the wedding ceremony and the reception in the same venue.
